Steps to create animating Data Visualization
Step 1: Open Tableau
Step 2: Click on Text file to connect with Tableau
Step 3: Browse csv file (or other file format as your need) and click on Open
Step 4: Data has been loaded, now click on Sheet 1
Step 5: Click on Format tab and select Animations…
Step 6: Select Off for Workbook Default
Step 7: Drag-n-Drop Date to Columns and Sales Amount to Rows
Step 8: Right click on Date (in Columns) and select Month
Step 9: Click on dropdown with Standard and select Entire View for the visual
Step 10: Click on dropdown with Automatic (in Marks card) and select Bar to convert the visual in Bar
Step 11: Drag-n-drop Date under the Pages shelf to give you controls over the date
Step 12: Right click over Date (under Pages Shelf) and select Month
Step 13: Mark Show history; click on down array icon and follow the image
Output: The animation will run from January to December, with each previous bar fading out to orange in the process
